Mission

BenOfficial Goods’ mission is to provide opportunities for meaningful employment to individuals of all abilitites.

BenOfficial Goods’ products are created, packaged, or distributed by the individuals who seek support from Happiness House (www.happinesshouse.org) CP Rochester (www.cprochester.org) and Rochester Rehabilitation (www.rochesterrehab.org).

ALL PROFITS are returned to these agencies to support people of all abilities in determining their own pathway in life. The two greatest needs in these organizations are “age in place” homes and structured day programs after school “graduation.”

BenOfficial Goods vision includes placing its products at gifts shops and grocery stores and create enough jobs for everyone that wants a job, to have one.   In the meantime, customers can find the products this summer at farmer’s markets, charitable events, and local festivals, while we build our brand!

The goal is to strive for a day when BenOfficial Goods can provide ALL people who have a special need….a very special job.

Work Experience Program

As a work experience program, special needs adults age 21 and over, will be trained and work in various stages of creating, packaging and shipping of our products. This program will be in collaboration with other not for profit agencies such as Happiness House, Cerebral Palsy of Rochester and Rochester Rehabilitation.

The company will appear to outsiders as any other company. We will have an Administrative Department, Shipping and Receiving, Production, Sales, Maintenance/Janitorial and Payroll and Accounting. Of course, our company will have vending machines for breaks, and a cafeteria to provide breakfast and lunch…all staffed with special needs adults. The difference is a Job Coach will be the Manager of each department and we will rely on volunteers that want to make a difference to help supervise!

All Profits go to the Ability Partners Foundation, a 501c3 organization that provides support services and housing opportunities to children and adults with disabilities through Happiness House, CP of Rochester, and Rochester Rehab.
